Our launching point for this work is a remote worker incentive and retention program, Ascend WV.
Emphasizing community, purpose, and the outdoors, Ascend WV is designed to support remote workers and their families as they relocate to West Virginia to pursue high quality of life and an outdoor-driven lifestyle. A collaboration between the West Virginia Department of Tourism and West Virginia University, communities within the Morgantown Area, Greenbrier Valley, Eastern Panhandle, and Greater Elkins include numerous benefits:
WVU’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research completed an analysis for the first three locations of the program that shows significant economic impact for the state and the creation of new businesses and jobs.
