After completing her undergraduate degree in Geology and landing a job in Houston, Ali Jeney’s interests led her to become a trip guide for Yellowstone National Park where she worked for 8 months educating and leading visitors through the park's vast and beautiful terrain. Realizing her passion for science, education, and the outdoors, Ali made her return to WVU to complete a master's degree in education while she worked as a graduate assistant for the Outdoor Recreation Center. As the director of Science Adventure School, Ali oversees development and operations and shares her excitement for the outdoors with the youth of West Virginia. She works every day to improve the wild, wonderful, unique, and extraordinary place she calls home. Her favorite outdoor activities in the Mountain State are canoeing, backpacking, and getting her skills up on beginner’s mountain biking trails.
