Travis Hines is the Eastern Panhandle Experience Coordinator for Ascend WV. In his role he facilitates the transition to life in the Eastern Panhandle, helping Ascend WV members find community and purpose while engaging in the multitude of outdoor opportunities available.
A native of Martinsburg, Travis developed a love for the outdoors growing up near a Wildlife Management Area. “Being outdoors in any capacity is baked into who I am at a cellular level” says Travis. He has an insatiable appetite to learn as much about modern history as he can which led him to graduate from West Virginia University with a degree in History and Political Science. After college, Travis spent 10 years teaching Social Studies before joining the OEDC and Ascend WV.
In his time outside of work, you might find Travis hiking and biking as means to
get to the river to pursue his favorite outdoor pastime — fly fishing.
