Nathan Jones is the Charleston Area Experience Coordinator for Ascend WV. Raised in north-central West Virginia near the Cheat River Canyon, Nathan developed a deep appreciation for the state's rich history, arts, and culture while cultivating a lifelong connection to the outdoors. He enjoys spending time camping, whitewater kayaking, cycling, and golfing, and consistently finds inspiration in West Virginia's natural landscapes. When he is not outdoors, Nathan finds time to play the mandolin - an instrument that has taken him to some of the most interesting and adventurous places across the country.
After earning an undergraduate degree in History from Fairmont State University, Nathan relocated to Charleston, West Virginia, where he worked with various institutions, including the Kanawha County Public LIbrary and the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences. He later served as Executive Director of the historic Craik-Patton House Museum for nearly eight years, further strengthening his experience in cultural stewardship and community engagement.
