West Virginia has world-class outdoor assets, strong communities, and a deep sense of place. At the same time, many communities face challenges related to population loss, economic transition, and long-term investment.
The Brad & Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative was created to help communities build on their strengths and create new opportunities through outdoor recreation and outdoor economic development.

We work alongside communities, businesses, nonprofit organizations, public agencies, educators, and industry partners to help move ideas into action.
